5. Cookies

5.1 What are cookies?

Cookies are small data sets that are stored on your hard drive by our website and, in particular, enable your computer to be recognized on your next visit. We would like to point out that some of these cookies are transferred from our server to your computer system, which are usually so-called “session cookies”. “Session cookies” are characterized by the fact that they are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session. Other cookies remain on your computer system and enable us to recognize your computer system on your next visit (so-called permanent cookies). Of course, you can reject cookies at any time, provided your browser allows this.

5.2 How do we use cookies ?

Accepting cookies is not a prerequisite for visiting our website. In order to be able to place an order in the nordic coast company online shop, your browser's security settings must allow the writing of so-called cookies on your computer. We need this function, among other things, to ensure better service and to be able to temporarily store products in the shopping cart for you for 24 hours. We also use cookies to carry out frequency, page usage and marketing evaluations. For all of our evaluations, we use this cookie information exclusively without any connection to your personal address data, so it is completely anonymized. You can set your internet browser so that you are informed about the storage of cookies, decide for yourself in each individual case whether you want to accept cookies, or not accept cookies under any circumstances. However, if you do not accept cookies, there may be restrictions on the usability of our website. You can delete cookies that are already stored on your hard drive at any time.

The legal basis for the use of cookies is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 f GDPR. Our legitimate interest in collecting data follows from the fact that we need the use of cookies for the purpose of optimizing our offers.

6. Google/Google Analytics and Google Fonts

Google Analytics:

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and which enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for website operators and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Under no circumstances will Google associate your IP address with other Google data.

By using this website, you agree to the processing of the data collected about you by Google in the manner and for the purpose described above. The collection and storage of data can be objected to at any time with effect for the future. See (http://tools.google.com/
dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de). In view of the discussion about the use of analysis tools with full IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()” and therefore IP addresses are only processed in shortened form in order to exclude any direct personal reference. nordic coast company declares that it will not carry out any analysis of usage behavior using full IP addresses (including geolocation) without the consent of those affected.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 Para. 1 Sentence 1 f GDPR. Our legitimate interest in collecting data results from the fact that we use Google Analytics for the purpose of optimizing our offers.

Google Fonts:

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google. When you access a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache so that fonts are displayed correctly. For this purpose, the browser you use connects to Google’s servers. In this way, Google receives the information that our website was accessed via your IP address.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 f GDPR. Our legitimate interest in collecting data follows from the fact that we need to use web fonts to simplify and optimize the presentation of our website.

When you visit our pages, the plugin establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. We would like to point out that as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. You can find further information about this in Facebook’s privacy policy at http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php.

In order to prevent Facebook from transmitting and storing data about you and your surfing behavior, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. In Facebook's data protection information at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ you will find more information about the collection and use of data by Facebook, the storage period, your rights in this regard and the setting options to protect your privacy.

Even without logging in to Facebook, it is in principle possible for data to be sent to Facebook due to active Facebook elements that store cookies on your computer system. It cannot be ruled out that a later registration with Facebook will result in Facebook assigning you a specific user profile. You can prevent this by selecting the “Block third-party cookies” function in your browser settings.

Facebook is committed to complying with the Privacy Shield Agreement between the EU and the USA published by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and storage of personal data from EU member states. You can find more information about this here: https://m.facebook.com/about/privacyshield.
